Botox

Botox (botulinum toxin) is an injectable muscle relaxant. Botox temporarily relaxes facial muscles to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, as well as prevent new lines from forming. Treatment is safe, minimally invasive and non surgical. Common injection sites include the forehead, the area between the eyebrows, the corners of the eyes, and the sides of the chin. Botox can also be used for a wide variety of other conditions, including migraines, excessive sweating, and psoriasis.
Botox is a musle relaxing agent. It decreases the facial motion, removing fine lines, wrinkles, crow’s feet and neck bands. Ideal for the wrinkles, like the lines between the brows. Effects last for 4 to 6 months. Botox is done for facial glow and rejuvenation.

Number of session depend on the condition to be treated, since the results lasts only for 6 months repeat sessions are done depending on the need.
No permanent side effects are noted. Mild pain and discomfort will be felt for few hours after procedure.
The patients are advices to stay erect to prevent diffusion for 4 hours after procedure and patients are also advised not to manipulate the injected site and not to exercise the treated muscles like smile.
There is no adverse effect of botulinum toxin in pregnancy. But there are not many studies to prove the safety of toxin in pregnancy. We at Skintrust hospital advice to defer the procedure during pregnancy.
The results start to appear after 2 to 3 days after procedure. But the full response is seen after 4 weeks after the treatment.
